1. When will the
league start?
The league
will start on your assigned day. Your
Team Captain will inform you of that
date.
2. How much is
it?
Payment for
your league is completely designed by
your league coordinator. Please see
individual League Captains for payment
details. You will want the fees
collected at minimum to send one player
to the Championship. This should be
approximately a $1,100. Prize Package.
You send in
the amount needed for LIPS which is $330
for the buy in and tournament fees, $100
for the Reception, and $100
administrative participation fee. For a
total of $530 being sent in for
your winner. Then purchase a hotel and
airfare package or simply allocate the
remaining for cash and the winner can
make their own arrangements.
(Sometimes, you can purchase a package
deal for hotel and air very reasonably.
We recommend you do this and make sure
the funds collected is adequate.) If the
cash amount is not adequate for hotel
and airfare, the winner may have to
contribute personal funds to make up the
difference.
3. How do we
register our league?
Once your
league is formed, simply register your
league using the league registration
form.
4. Who
gets the prize package and exactly what is it?
The
overall point winner once your league is
completed will be awarded the prize
package. Any remaining monies over the
prize package will be distributed to the
finalists. Winner gets the package you
decide on... airfare? Hotel? Spending Cash?
AND their buy in to the LIPS Tour Grand
Championship in July 2008 at the Orleans
Casino in Las Vegas. The LIPS Championship
is a three day event starting with your
attending the Winners Circle Champagne
Reception, and the main event on Sunday.
5. What
happens to a winner if they are already a LIPS
Champion????
Well, you're already a Champion! This
program is designed to send a PERSON
representing the league as a "Champion" to
the LIPS Championship! It is not meant to be
a satellite where you play to win money.
Your league deserves to be represented. Now,
this situation was recently brought up and
there was no policy in place. So, in
interest of fairness of those that have
played, or are playing in more than one
league, the following policy has been
adopted.
If
in the event the league winner is an
existing LIPS Champion, then she will
receive 35% of the prize package money and
will not be allowed to play in more leagues
after that point during the season they are
a Champion. This will allow opportunities
for women who are not yet a LIPS Champion to
win. The remaining portion of the prize
package will be given to second place with
the commitment that they will attend the
championship representing their group even
if the monies remaining are less than the
full amount, and a personal contribution may
be needed to attend the Championship. If
they are unable to commit, then the prize
package will be offered to the next place
finishers until someone is able to commit to
be the League Champion.
